Justin Amash Must Avoid Libertarian Party Temptation

At 6 AM on July 4, 2019, the Washington Post published an Op-Ed by Representative Justin Amash of Michigans 3rd Congressional District in which he announced his departure from the Republican Party.

Amash said he has become “disenchanted with party politics and frightened by what I see from it. The two-party system has evolved into an existential threat to American principles and institutions.” His sentiment is one that state houses across the country are echoing.

Hong Kong Protests Continue Despite Countless Arrests

In response to recent protests in Hong Kong, Police have arrested several protesters. This comes after both the local government and the government in Beijing condemned the young protesters who stormed the legislature. Despite countless arrests, protests continue. Officials in the local government worry that the arrests could cause the protests to grow more violent.

The Libertarian Party of Nevada is Literally Brain-Dead

The Libertarian Party is no stranger to absolute buffoonery. From not wanting Ron Paul to speak at their convention to celebrating getting 1% registered libertarians in 5 states, they continue to blunder. Similarly, a recent campaign on The Libertarian Party of Nevada’s Facebook page only continues this trend. In particular, they are celebrating a “Ron Paul Week” on their page. During this week, they are making daily posts targeting Ron Paul and attempting to “go far beyond the politics of the former Republican Congressman.” But this is just another sad brain-dead social media attempt to garner any form of legitimacy. And embarrassingly so.

Oil and Babysitting Money: What Really Runs the Economy

After the mid-1800s, oil and its byproducts became a virtual necessity for manufacturing and transportation. American and foreign oil industries have caused wars, economic depression, and environmental disaster. The top four richest companies on the planet are either oil or car companies. In fact, oil and gas alone (not including their various byproducts) comprise around two to three percent of the world economy. It’s involved in most of the manufacturing of other goods, such as plastics, metals, transportation, and other machinery. This is on a worldwide scale, with most oil and natural gas coming from undeveloped nations. But in the first world, our economies are about split between oil money and “babysitting money”.
