Many Miss the Forest When It Comes to Israel and Palestine

Warren Albrecht | United States

Recently, Rep. Ilhan Omar has criticized people in the United States who support Israel’s government and that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) influence.

I support the country of Israel and territories of Palestinian people; Israel is a legitimate country with an insane history. I believe in private property rights and do not believe two wrongs make a right. Peace between Jews and Arabs in the region is a very difficult issue. We must not get distracted by the trees of political rhetoric from the potential peace of the forest.

Civilian Slaughter Is Somehow Legal in Apartheid Israel

Ryan Lau | @agorisms

The apartheid state of Israel has long tried to hide some of their more barbaric practices. Most notably, they adamantly refuse to admit their possession of nuclear weapons, despite possessing up to 400 of them. The country has also stolen weapons-grade uranium from the United States. Moreover, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself is far from an innocent man. He famously asserted that the terror attacks on 9/11 were good for Israel, and has smuggled nuclear triggers for his own program.

Sadly, though, these all pale in comparison to the Jewish state’s latest stroke of immorality. Continue reading “Civilian Slaughter Is Somehow Legal in Apartheid Israel”

Nike and Kaepernick are Unimportant. Focus on Real Issues.

By Jack Parkos | @refoundinfather

Recently, Nike’s new ad campaign “Just do it” was celebrating its 30-year anniversary. Nike chose former quarterback Colin Kaepernick as their spokesperson. This caused major controversy, upsetting conservatives who opposed his prior kneeling for the national anthem. This was a hot topic last year, and the campaign only brought it back.

The debate sparked as two sides asked very different questions. By taking a knee, was Kaepernick showing free speech? Was it an appropriate cause to protest? Or, was it disrespectful to veterans and active military? These questions were not only cultural questions but political as well. Many politicians got involved, and even the president was in on it. Trump, as usual, decided to take to Twitter to voice his thoughts.

The irony of this is that back in 2013, Trump tweeted about Obama paying too much attention to the NFL.

Trump’s second tweet, though hypocritical, has truth to it. Politicians need to stop focusing on nonsense. What football players do on the field is up to the NFL, not D.C. Of course, we can all (politicians included) can have an opinion on it, but this shouldn’t be an issue brought to the government. This should not decide who you elect.

More Important Things are Happening

While all of this occurred, Russia accused America of using white phosphorus bombs against civilian targets in Syria. This is banned by the Geneva Convention. Both sides of the Syrian Civil War have faced accusations of this, but the mainstream media rarely mentions it. Instead, they debate about what to do during the national anthem. Essentially, the media prioritized a song during a game over chemical warfare.

It is time for Fox and CNN to stop acting like ESPN and start focusing on the tragic losses of life that occur daily due to dangerous American foreign policy.  The level of attention given to minor issues is blasphemous! Israel has nukes and Syria is more war-torn than ever, but the focus still goes to football players.

Meaningless Debate

While it may seem crazy that this is happening, politicians love it. Think of all of the minor issues people debate over. Liberals and conservatives will go at it for hours debating about Trump and Stormy Daniels but never will mention that the Federal Reserve is inflating our currency and wrecking the economy. Congress passes bill after bill without reading them, but the people are debating about female superheroes.

Politicians love this because it is a great example of the divide and conquer tactic. They can easily pit the liberals and conservatives against each other on minor issues. They will hate each other so much, they won’t pay attention when Democrats and Republicans work together to increase the budget and further the debt. Note that none of these trivial issues affect the state in a significant way, regardless of the outcome. But as long as the state can keep the people occupied, they will not rise up against the government’s real injustices.

This is a threat to our freedom. The government is slowly slipping away our liberties not because they win the fight, but because nobody cares.  Every day the debt goes up, but we keep talking about the national anthem protest. The people don’t realize how reckless American foreign policy is. Would they even notice the early signs of another war? More sickeningly, would they care? It’s a question we must ask, and it can be very hard to believe either to be true.

While issues like the national anthem protest deserve some media time, there are bigger, more important issues that should have the focus. What happens if the players do or do not kneel? Likely nothing. What happens if we continue to go into debt and constantly wage war overseas? We do not know for sure, but it will be worse than anything that could happen during the anthem.

The End of Days? Apocalypse Cow Born in Israel

By Ryan Lau | @agorisms

Recently, the Temple Institute in Jerusalem announced the birth of a rare red heifer cow. According to the institute, if the calf qualifies, it would be the first “red heifer in 2000 years”.

An Apocalypse Cow?

Christianity and Judaism both state that the birth of a pure, unmarked red heifer calf spells the beginning of the end of the world. With a potential apocalypse cow born, the institute now must undergo vigorous screening of it. If the calf has any marks or blemishes, then it is not pure, and thus, cannot be the sacrificial animal that the religions’ sacred texts promise.

The Temple Institute is a non-profit Jewish religious group based out of Israel. Their main goal is to create the biblical Third Temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. According to sacred texts, after the tenth red heifer in history is sacrificed, the people can begin building the temple.

The Red Heifer’s Religious Heat

However, the Islamic Dome of the Rock currently lies on Mount Moriah. In order to construct the Third Temple, they would first need to destroy the original structure. So, in order for this to occur, the Jewish community would first need to come to a consensus that the organization had truly found the right heifer. This, though, may turn out to be more difficult than it sounds, because they also would be bulldozing a major Muslim religious monument. And Islam, though similar to the other two monotheistic religions in many ways, does not recognize the red heifer as a symbol of judgment day.

Since 2015, the Temple Institute has been breeding cows in attempts at bringing about a red heifer. Though they have not resorted to genetic engineering, it is, of course, true that breeding knowledge is vastly more advanced today than in biblical times. Thus, it is not explicitly clear whether or not the cow would count, if it did not come about its conception through natural methods.

On the other hand, though, some may argue that the manipulation of animal lineage may necessitate judgment day, or at the very least, not disqualify it. In order for the construction of the temple to begin, the current owners of the Dome would need to agree to demolish it. Yet, it is highly unlikely that the Ministry of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places would do so.

High-stakes Conflict

Unfortunately, this refusal would likely stir up much more controversy. In recent years, Israeli leaders have threatened to take back the territory for Judaism. Only last year, the Jewish Temple movement stated officially that “We must liberate the Temple Mount from the murderous Islam”.

With a belief of the world’s end in play, these tensions would only skyrocket. Though they have threatened to tear down the Dome in the past, an important event such as the red heifer may be enough to prompt swift action. Muslims, though, having just lost a major religious monument, would surely retaliate if this was the case.

Without a doubt, the apocalypse cow has the chance to stir up some major religious controversy. If left unchecked, it could worsen the already horrific relations between Israel and Palestine, or even start a larger religious war. And unlike past religious wars such as the Crusades, Israel has nukes now. Other nearby nations are also hoping to attain them, so such a war could cause irrevocable consequences.

On Facebook, the institute officially declared the birth of the calf, but have yet to provide further information. Whether or not this calf can be the apocalypse cow may make or break hopes of peace between bitter religious rivals in Israel and the rest of the world.

Spoiler Alert: Israel Has Nukes

By Joe Brown | United States

Nuclear weapons are in season, and just like that old pair of jeggings in your mom’s closet, it doesn’t look like they will ever go out of style. While the trend originated in the United States, it’s found popularity all over the world, quickly becoming the hottest method of strategic deterrent and staying that way for over 70 years. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, there are 9 countries which possess nuclear weapons – the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, and of course everyone’s favorite – North Korea, with the combined nuclear arsenal of all of the above listed countries totaling to over 16,000 nuclear weapons. “But wait” all you clever mathematicians are saying. “That’s only eight countries. Who’s the ninth?”

If I were to ask the average American to point to a country in the Middle East which possessed nuclear weapons, half of the votes would end up in Zimbabwe…but even if we were to pretend that most Americans knew basic geography, the majority of fingers would point to Iran. But what would you think if I told you that the real culprit was in fact, the Jewish state? There are nukes in the Middle East without a doubt; but they’re owned by Israel, not Iran.

Amidst all the hullabaloo concerning forged Iranian missile blueprints and underground test sites, Israel has conveniently remained silent concerning its own history of stealing weapons grade uranium from the United States, and has declined to comment on how Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was involved in smuggling nuclear triggers to develop the Israeli Nuclear Program.

Israel’s obsession with Iran has played a key role in distracting the world from its own nefarious nuclear pursuits, but Israel isn’t the only one that hypocritically denies nuclear development. American anti-proliferation think tanks regularly harass Iranian and North Korean developments, and international coalition inspector groups have conducted extensive investigations in countries who own nuclear weapons, with Israel being the exception, as always is the case.

The failure of these groups to demand transparency, or even conduct an investigation into, the possession of nuclear weapons demonstrates that these agencies are simply internationally sanctioned weapons against Iran and North Korea, and whose primary purpose is to restrict the nuclear development of select countries, rather than maintain international integrity or safety. Iran has historically practiced military conservatism, whereas Israel has repeatedly engaged in offensive campaigns in Egypt, Palestine, and Lebanon. Iran is within the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and submits itself to regular inspections from the International Atomic Energy Agency, whereas Israel neither recognizes the deal, nor accepts inspectors. Finally, and perhaps most notably, Iran possesses no nuclear weapons, whilst Israel totes up to 400.

Despite the fact that there are weapons of mass destruction in the most volatile and unstable region in the world, this is likely the first you’ve heard about Israel possessing nuclear weapons. Why is it that such crucial knowledge has been hidden from the world? What has been keeping Israel from strutting its stuff on the runway with all the other countries with nuclear weapons, and what is keeping American politicians from talking about it? The answer is simple: Politics.

The existence of Israeli nuclear weapons is the unspoken elephant in the room in American government. Everyone is aware of its existence, from the scientists working in federal laboratories, to the President himself. Likewise, everyone is equally aware that they are never to be acknowledged, or even spoken of. An investigation published by the Atlantic reported that “U.S. officials, even those on Capitol Hill, are routinely admonished not to mention the existence of an Israeli nuclear arsenal and occasionally punished when they do so.” Such was the case of James Doyle, the veteran nuclear analyst at Los Alamos National Laboratory, who paid the price for straying from Washington’s playbook. After writing an article which indirectly mentioned the existence of Israeli nuclear weapons, Doyle’s publications were made classified, his pay was docked, his home computer was searched, and he was censured, before eventually being fired from his position.

The American political machine guards Israel’s secret like OJ Simpson guards his innocence. The problem is that in both cases, everyone knows the truth.

At this point, if you’re like me you would ask “But if everyone knows the truth, why does it matter? What is the purpose in pretending otherwise?”

If you’re like me, you wouldn’t be surprised to learn that like almost everything else in American politics, the Israeli lobby is heavily involved in the issue. The motivation of the secrecy can be found in legislation drafted in 1976 regarding U.S. foreign aid and assistance. The law, known as the U.S. Arms Export Control Act, made it illegal to supply aid to countries found in violation of the National Proliferation Treaty, which was signed in 1968. In order to maintain the supply of weapons and diplomatic support between the U.S. and Israel, American officials are counseled to never acknowledge the existence of the Israeli nuclear program, and instead pretend as if such a thing doesn’t exist. You don’t hear about Israeli nukes because Israel doesn’t want you to know that they are in violation of not only U.S. policy, but international law as well.

But then again, since when has Israel cared about international law?

American officials may be aware of the presence of Israeli nukes, but the figures regarding how many nuclear units remains unclear, partially due to the fact that politicians in both Israel and the U.S. deny their very existence. Rising above the BS and the obvious facade are whistle blowers from different origins, professing the truth about Israel’s nuclear program, and denouncing the lies that Israeli lobbyists have been spoon feeding American politicians for years. One such man is Mordechai Vanunu, the former Israeli nuclear technician who revealed his country’s secret nuclear program as early as 1986. Vanunu claimed that the number of nuclear weapons possessed by the Israeli government is near 200, with media outlets in Jerusalem reporting 115, and American Intelligence Agencies estimating as many as 400 nuclear weapons.

You’ve heard of bureaucratic incompetence, but miscounting 400 nukes as opposed to zero takes some Ralph Wiggum levels of stupidity. Far worse than clumsy government ineptness, this involves a more calculated and conscious lie that is being used to justify the support of an ethno-nationalistic state.

Trump may have paraded the concept of “America First”, but don’t let the enthusiastic slogans or his trade deals fool you. This is Israel’s America, and it has been since the moment American politicians prioritized the support of the Jewish state over the needs of the American people. Decades of hidden deals and billions of dollars have created a system that serves those who can afford it, and as of now, Israel wants America to stay silent.

Yes, Israel has nukes…but you didn’t hear it from me 😉
