John Green’s New Book ‘Turtles All the Way Down’ Will Get Movie Adaptation

By Benjamin Lemley | USA

Last mouth the award-winning author, vlogger, and podcaster John Green published his 5th solo novel ‘Turtles All the Way Down’. The book follows Ava, an introverted teenager suffering from mental illness, and her indulgence with her more adventurous side. Since the books release it has sold over a million English copies. Green has been previously recognized for other 4 critically acclaimed novels, ‘Looking for Alaska’, ‘An Abundance of Katherines’, ‘Paper Towns’, and ‘The Fault in our Stars’. The latter two both received movie adaptations in cooperation with Fox 2000.

Green announced Thursday via his YouTube channel VlogBrothers that his newest publication will receive an attempt at adaptation to the movie screen. While we didn’t learn any specifics about cast, production, or development of this new film there’s a couple of things to know.

First, we aren’t sure about the real probability of this adaptation. Green states in his video that while they are giving movie production a shot and that he has sold the rights, we can’t confirm that we will actually see this movie on the big screen, at least in the coming years.

Secondly, there is a chance this project will fall through. Greens first book ‘Looking for Alaska’ was in movie production early last year, but was never finished due to casting issues. We may end up seeing a similar result of this new potential film.

While fans are hopeful for the fresh take on this adventurous novel, the reality of production may end up being a major hurdle. Until then, we all wish for the best result of this project.
