Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris recently promised that if she ever becomes president, she will implement red flag laws. But what seems to set her apart from many others is the criteria she uses. The Californian believes that seizing guns from white nationalists or any person exhibiting “traits of being a danger to society” could reduce violence in America.

Gun Control Won’t Save Mankind From Its Own Instincts

Many of those on the left side of the aisle think that the solution to mass shootings is to restrict the access to, or ban altogether, guns. However, their solution to put a stop to the ever-increasing violence in America falls flat. If human behavior was put into consideration, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that violence is part of our species’ history. Instead of blaming guns, shouldn’t we blame the toxic standards that exist in our society?

Rufo Chacon Describes Life Without Sight After Attack

Two weeks ago, Venezuelan student Rufo Chacon’s life permanently changed for the worse. For the offense of peaceful protest, cops fired 52 rubber bullets in his face, leaving him permanently blind. Now, the 16-year-old-boy faces a life of challenges as he tries to adapt to his new life as a blind man in Venezuela. The boy was part of a protest demanding basic goods and cooking gas, which are in shortages. The Venezuelan movement for better conditions soon turned into a bloodbath when police officers started firing rubber bullets. Several other people were also injured, including Chacon’s sister.
