John Delaney’s National Service Plan Is “Patriotic” Slavery

Democratic Presidential candidate John Delaney unveiled an ambitious new campaign policy on Sunday: mandatory national service. The former Maryland Representative’s plan would require any Americans born after 2006 to participate in one of several paths of public service. These include enlisting in the military, participating in community service projects, or joining a planned “Climate Corps.” While seemingly well-intended, the plan would allow the federal government to force young adults to serve their country, sending a clear message to Americans that we cannot even control our own lives.

Bernie Sanders: Front-Runner for the Democratic Nomination

Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders ran an insurgent campaign in 2016. As a relatively unknown senator, he attempted to defeat the presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton. In his attempt, he almost succeeded in doing so garnering 43% of the vote and winning 23 states. Fast-forward to the 2020 Democratic Party nomination race and many see Bernie Sanders as a serious contender. However, Bernie Sanders is not the front-runner, in the eyes of the media. That distinction belongs to former Vice President Joe Biden who has yet to announce his candidacy.

While Bernie Sanders may not be coming in first in every poll and other candidates are competing with his fundraising numbers, he should be considered the front-runner for the Democratic Nomination.

Republicans Must Be Cautious About Any Primary Runs

For the last year or so, potential candidates for the 2020 election have received tremendous media attention. In fact, ABC, NBC, and Fox News have had sub-pages they solely dedicated to gossip about what, when, and who will spark the race to the oval office. The voting booths won’t deliver the true result of the 2020 mystery for another 21 months. However, there is beginning to be a real sense of movement in American politics.
