Lincoln Chaffee Changes Party Affiliation a 4th Time

Francis Folz | @FrancisFolz

Over the past decade, there has been a movement of public icons transitioning from the two establishmentarian parties to America’s new and attractive third parties. Gary Johnson switched over from the Republican party in 2012, Joe Miller and Bill Weld in 2016, and in 2019 the Libertarian Party (of Wyoming) has accumulated a former Rhode Island governor, senator, and Democratic presidential hopeful Lincoln Chafee.

Oppressive Gun Bills in the Oregon State Legislature

oregon gun bill, or sb 501

OR SB 501 is still currently circling around in the Senate Judiciary Committee. This Oregon gun bill, nicknamed the “Oregon Gunpocalypse”, imposes ridiculous restraints on legal gun owners. OR SB 978 is also gaining traction in the State Senate. OR HB 3223 is in the House Judiciary Committee as well. Clearly, someone ignorant on the subject of firearms drafted these bills. High School students, “Students for Change”, drafted OR SB 501, which State Senator Robert Wagner proposed. Apparently drafting gun bills when you know nothing about guns is a trend in Oregon.

Gun Rights: Death By A Thousand Cuts

gun rights, gun control

As much as I hate to admit it, they’re never going to just “come and take it”. Disarmament of American gun owners and the death of their rights will be a very gradual and well-disguised process. There obviously is not enough support for such extreme measures of gun control, given that 43% of all American households own at least one firearm. They won’t be coming for your shotguns and bolt action rifles and commonly owned handguns… yet.

In 1994 then-Senator Joe Biden, under Bill Clinton’s presidency, passed the Violence Against Women Act. Every five years since then, Congress reauthorizes the act. The bill allowed for the creation of the Office of Violence Against Women within the Department of Justice. It also allocates funding for such. Rep Karen Bass (D-CA) bought the 2019 reauthorization to the floor of the House of Representatives, labeled HR 1585 of the 116th Congress. However, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi managed to sneak some red-flag type gun control provisions onto the bill.

Gun Control Is Re-Branded Gun Violence

TJ Roberts | United States

On January 9th, 2019, Dianne Feinstein introduced the Assault Weapons ban of 2019 to the United States Senate. In the authoritarian left’s endless attempt at complete social control, Feinstein has made it her goal to ban guns as small as the Ruger 10/22. Feinstein and her supporters justify this in the name of safety. While one may have sympathy for one’s desire for safety, basic logic refutes this claim. In fact, there is nothing that could make a physically weak person safer than a gun. It must be made clear that all gun laws are infringements. There is no compromise on fundamental rights.
