The 2020 election is just over a year away, but there is already a long list of candidates running on the Democratic ballot. In June next year, the DNC will hold their primary debates in Milwaukee with over 20 candidates participating. Those who lean anti-establishment have had their eyes on Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard, but it’s easy to forget that they are both polling below 2%. At the top are still Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and at the very top with 27%, Joe Biden.
Last Friday, a lone gunman entered two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, opening fire and killing 50. All of these people were innocent Muslims who were simply partaking in Friday prayer. As a result, many politicians across the globe are calling to end hate towards Muslims and increase gun control. Particularly in the United States, though, most of these voices are wildly inconsistent. The majority of Congress, according to voting records and funding they accept, cares very little for Muslims. Or, at least, they have no regard for the ones overseas. In reality, it looks like quite a few politicians are simply using Muslims as a tool to ban guns.
The general election is still over a year away. We can’t trust presidential polls too much, especially if they’re within the margin of error. However, one candidate is not within the margin of error. Joe Biden is blowing Trump away. He has the moderate, blue-collar appeal that could win back the Rust Belt and give the suburban women uncomfortable with Trump a home in the Democratic Party. Every Democratic candidate will lose to Trump except for Biden, who would win in a blowout.
Ex-Vice President Joe Biden has been making headlines recently as he finds himself on the wrong end of a sexual harassment accusation. Biden, who dedicates his time to fighting sexual assault on college campuses, was accused by ex-Nevada Assemblywoman Lucy Flores, of inappropriately kissing her at a 2014 campaign rally in Nevada.

On Wednesday, Joe Biden received a family blessing: they support the former vice president entering the ring of presidential candidates. This brings Biden one step closer to making a critical decision about running, recently stating he is now “very close” to choosing.
But what would Biden be like if he ran and eventually won? Compared to most candidates in the fray, his record on the war on drugs is frankly alarming.
