Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris recently promised that if she ever becomes president, she will implement red flag laws. But what seems to set her apart from many others is the criteria she uses. The Californian believes that seizing guns from white nationalists or any person exhibiting “traits of being a danger to society” could reduce violence in America.
On August 12, 1480, the Martyrs of Otranto were beheaded. The Ottomans ordered 800 Christians to convert to Islam following the successful siege of Otranto. The massacre happened when the Christian men refused to convert. Such barbarity is a ghost from the past but brings up a worthy question-what is the state of religious freedom in America today? The Do No Harm Act provides insights.
I’m pretty cynical about politics. I’m cynical to the point where I don’t care who will win or lose because to me, it’s all theater. Watching the democratic debates, I realize that there is no debating happening. Rather, politicians are spewing pre-rehearsed talking points to garner publicity for whatever the hell they went on stage for. However, Kamala Harris stands out, and not in a good way. Thanks to the comments of Tulsi Gabbard, she stands out as a disgusting authoritarian and modern-day slave driver.
It’s been over two weeks since the Democratic debates in Florida and the nation is still reeling. Attention has not come off the candidates’ wins, losses, and scandals for a single second. The puff pieces and local news health broadcasts have practically nowhere to go. A “winner” of the second Democratic debate was US Senator Kamala Harris. The media and her supporters praised her take-down of Joe Biden and her stellar performance on the evening of the debate. Harris’ supporters think of her as a perfect progressive candidate in support of all the standard and fringe left economic and social issues.

This country is facing a major economic crisis- 1.5 trillion dollars of unpaid student debt. The next generation of college graduates will have hundreds of billions of dollars in borrowed money, most of which they will never be able to repay. After home mortgages, student debt is the second-highest type of consumer debt, higher than credit card debt. With solutions to student loans being thrown around on the campaign trail, it’s time to talk about the future.
