Tulsi Gabbard Is Not a Libertarian

For some reason, libertarians love Tulsi Gabbard.

Gabbard, the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, has been praised for her anti-war message and honesty on a range of topics including the industrial military complex, the federal reserve, and overarching tech privacy. But that does not make Gabbard a libertarian.

Though Gabbard promotes a general anti-interventionist message that is informed by her military service in Iraq, there are still lingering questions about her close relationship with Syrian dictator Bashar Assad. Still, some of the most prominent libertarians are willing to overlook her record.

Tulsi Gabbard Fights Back Against Big Tech

Atilla Sulker | @AtillaSulker

Recently, Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard went on Tucker Carlson, defending her decision to sue Google for allegedly suspending her campaign ads. According to Gabbard, this move on behalf of Google constitutes “election interference.” Gabbard further went on to say that her lawsuit would underscore the extensive power of Big Tech, and shed light on its violation of free speech. Gabbard’s gripes are very reminiscent of the feelings many conservatives also have towards Big Tech.

Day by day, Big Tech companies, such as Facebook and Twitter, have been shutting down the accounts of various figures they deem “controversial”; among these are Alex Jones and Louis Farrakhan. Like Gabbard, many conservatives proclaim that this is an infringement on the right to free speech and liken big tech companies onto monopolies. Thus, they assert that the solution is for the government to punish these companies.

Why I Support Tulsi Gabbard as a Libertarian

Support Tulsi Gabbard Libertarian
Mason Mohon | @mohonofficial

I’m not a voting man. I think that voting is ultimately ineffectual and a massive waste of time. Go plug in your support for a candidate and expect change. Even though Russia rigged it. Or Ted Cruz rigged it, whatever the story is this time. Voting is a joke, so I don’t really support anyone politically that way. Rather, I prefer to support through the most pragmatic means possible. How is this person going to shift the political discourse? How is the candidate I’m supporting going to re-shape politics? Answering these questions leads me to support Tulsi Gabbard as the ideal 2020 candidate, even as a libertarian.

Kamala Harris is Just a Modern-Day Slave Driver

Kamala Harris Slaver Driver Gabbard
Mason Mohon | @mohonofficial

I’m pretty cynical about politics. I’m cynical to the point where I don’t care who will win or lose because to me, it’s all theater. Watching the democratic debates, I realize that there is no debating happening. Rather, politicians are spewing pre-rehearsed talking points to garner publicity for whatever the hell they went on stage for. However, Kamala Harris stands out, and not in a good way. Thanks to the comments of Tulsi Gabbard, she stands out as a disgusting authoritarian and modern-day slave driver.
