A new industry has just taken hold in Nevada, and it isn’t expected to die out anytime soon. On the night of June 30th, people gathered in front of marijuana dispensaries all over the state to buy the plant from ‘budtenders.’ The weed legalization took action at midnight on July 1st.
Currently, the only states with marijuana legal for recreation are Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, Nevada (obviously), Colorado, Maine, and Massachusetts. We are eager to see which states will follow suit.
As Libertarians, we believe in the power of the individual to do what they please with their body, and we realize the tremendously horrible effects of the American war on drugs, so we support Nevada’s decision. To read more on why we believe it should be legal, click here.
