On Martin Luther King Day, Romney took a jab at Trump condemning his “shithole countries” remarks.

The potential Utah Senate candidate seems to continue to speak freely on his thoughts about the Trump administration and is not just being a puppet for his party.

The former Governor of Massachusetts tweeted “The poverty of an aspiring immigrant’s nation of origin is as irrelevant as their race. The sentiment attributed to POTUS is inconsistent w/ America’s history and antithetical to American values. May our memory of Dr. King buoy our hope for unity, greatness, & ‘charity for all.”

A couple of days ago Trump stated that African Countries are  “shithole countries” during an Oval Office discussion about immigration, a source briefed on the meeting told CNN. On Friday, he denied using that language.

According to several sources in Romney’s orbit, is most likely going to announce his bid for Senate in the next few weeks, attempting to replace the soon to be retired Republican Senator, Orrin Hatch.

The former Republican nominee has been an outspoken critic of Trump’s policies and rhetoric, calling him a “phony” and “a fraud” during the 2016 Republican primaries and refused to endorse Trump in the general election.

However, the two have had some ups in their relationship. The two recently spoke on the phone together and Romney was considered for Secretary of State by Donald Trump.
