An Afghan defense university in Kabul was attacked early on Monday resulting in at least five dead soldiers and 10 injured, according to the latest local reports.
In an attack claimed by Daesh (IS), militants attacked Marshal Fahim National Defense University with reports of gunfire and explosions heard in the capital of Afghanistan.
Four of the assailants were killed and one arrested by Aghan security forces.
At least 10 blasts were heard around 5 a.m., with the military blocking off roads near the military academy and officials confirming that attackers were using rocket propelled grenades, according to Tolo news agency.
The Taliban and Daesh (IS) have attacked Afghan positions in increasing quantity in recent weeks.
It comes soon after a suicide bombing attack that used an ambulance killed at least 100 people in a secure compound.
