Every fall, the richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, takes a gang of writers out on a retreat called Campfire. The retreat is incredibly secretive, but what we do know is that the writers love it. However, not all is perfect in writer paradise. Last year, Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell attended the retreat. This raises interesting questions about connections between wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Who is Ghislaine Maxwell?
Ghislaine Maxwell is alleged to be Epstein’s madam. Reports indicate that she was responsible for luring women into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. She was accused of helping the financier groom and abuse young women.
Her father, Robert Maxwell, was a wealthy businessman that died mysteriously in 1991. Although it was ruled a suicide, Maxwell believes that her father was murdered. Medical examiners could not agree about the cause of Maxwell’s death, and reports indicate that he had ties to Mossad.
After his death, Ghislaine Maxwell moved to New York and began working for Jeffrey Epstein. She was Epstein’s “main girlfriend” and was responsible for the hiring and firing of Epstein’s staff. She was also responsible for connecting Epstein to Prince Andrew.
VICE reports that Maxwell attended at least one and up to three of Bezos’s campfire retreats.
Two Campfire 2018 attendees independently confirmed to Motherboard that Maxwell attended the exclusive retreat that year. One of the sources maintained that Maxwell had attended three Campfires including 2018, but that Maxwell was not an attendee at Campfire 2019 held in early October. Campfire 2018 took place shortly before a Miami Herald investigation resurfaced Epstein’s crimes and Maxwell’s alleged links to them, which eventually led to new charges against Epstein.
This only strengthens the narrative that Epstein and his crew had connections to many wealthy elites. The most concerning part is that this connects Epstein’s associates with Jeff Bezos. Maxwell was tasked with bringing young girls into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
This does not mean that Bezos was involved in Epstein’s trafficking endeavors. However, it does mean that Maxwell probably used Bezos’s campfire retreat to involve wealthy and powerful people in the depravity. This only expands the list of possible associates to Epstein, and like with every other part of Epstein’s story, it seems to leave us with more questions than answers.
